Cariuma is a Brazilian footwear brand that was founded in 2018 by David Pythons and Fernando Porto. Two friends who decided to respond to the lack of sustainable yet stylish sneakers on the market. Their goal was to create a brand that was environmentally friendly, ethically produced and both comfortable and visually appealing. Cariuma quickly gained popularity for its timeless design inspired by the surf and skateboard culture of Brazil, but adapted to global fashion tastes.
Natural and renewable materials such as organic cotton, bamboo, natural rubber and recycled PET bottles are a distinctive feature of the brand. Cariuma prides itself on transparent production and actively invests in rainforest restoration. For every pair sold, it plants two new trees in the Mata Atlântica region of Brazil. Celebrities who have endorsed or worn the brand include actress Helen Mirren, comedian Whitney Cummings and professional skateboarders Mike Vallely and Leandre Sanders. Cariuma thus appeals to women who seek a balance between style, comfort and a responsible approach to fashion.
