Gramicci is a clothing brand that combines functionality and style for outdoor activities. It was founded by Mike Graham, a mountaineer who was part of the Stonemasters group of innovators who revolutionised climbing in the 1970s. Graham designed the first climbing shorts with a diamond-shaped gusset for flexibility, canvas fabric for durability and a strap for adjustability. He named his brand Gramicci after a nickname he acquired during a climbing expedition. The shorts were followed by a pair of pants, known as G-Pants, which became a favorite among climbers, surfers, skaters and streetwear enthusiasts. Gramicci is now based in Japan, where it continues to create clothing that reflects its heritage and culture.
